The Kroger Company asked its customers in Michigan and Ohio to check for recalled beef products linked to E. Coli illnesses.
The US Department of Agriculture identified Nebraska Beef as the supplier of products related to the outbreak. The illnesses were reported between May 31 and June 8.
Kroger initiated the recall last week to the Columbus and Toledo areas.
The recalled beef products are wrapped in Styrofoam tray packages and would have been purchased from in-store service counters.
Every store involved in the recall has been ordered by Kroger to discard the ground beef products. All equipment used to prepare the meat for sale will be cleaned as part of the process.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have not reported any additional illnesses related to the outbreak.
