Finally, it’s here! Today San Diego Comic-Con 2011 is officially upon us, and we couldn’t be more thrilled. But while there are countless things to look forward to during this four-day nerd extravaganza, stale and overpriced convention food isn’t one of them. But what other options are there for the hungry and exhausted masses spilling out of Comic-Con’s myriad viewing rooms and panels? It used to be traipsing off to the nearest restaurants in San Diego’s Gaslamp District. But thanks to the food truck craze that’s hit the city like a whirlwind over the past year, you can avoid exerting some of that energy best spent on the main exhibitor hall.
On Thursday, Friday, and Saturday (and Sunday for a couple intrepid long-haulers), a gaggle of food trucks will be posting up in the 1st Ave/Island/J St. lot just behind the San Diego Convention Center on the way out to Seaport Village. Most food trucks will be there from 10AM to 10PM, essentially outlasting Comic-Con itself, so come whenever you’re hungry. Want the food truck line-up? Look no further – here you go:
