Last night marked the 25th anniversary of the International Association of Culinary Professionals Cookbook Awards. The IACP announced the winners of the 2011 Cookbook Awards at an event in Austin, Texas, hosted by French Culinary Institute director Dave Arnold and Modernist Cuisine co-author Chris Young. From Dorie Greenspan to Noma’s René Redzepi, the IACP honored some of the year’s greatest achievements in food writing, journalism, and photography.
That René Redzepi took home not just one, but two, prizes should come as no surprise. The Nordic chef has been on fire all year, already picking up a James Beard cookbook award and the #1 rank in Restaurant magazine’s S. Pellegrino 50 Best Restaurants list in the last few months alone. Noma: Time and Place in Nordic Cuisine took home the IACP cookbook awards for Design as well as Food Photography & Styling.

Other big winners include Lisa Dupar, whose Fried Chicken & Champagne: A Romp Through the Kitchen at Pomegranate Bistro won the Julia Child Award for best first book, People’s Choice Award winners Bernard Guillas and Ron Oliver for Two Chefs, One World, and Hank Shaw for his blog Hunter Angler Gardener Cook. But the biggest prize of the night went to Dorie Greenspan – her book Around My French Table: More Than 300 Recipes From My Home To Yours won Cookbook of the Year.
