Just-Eat.co.uk takeaway portal hits 5000 mark

Restaurants around the UK are increasingly reaping the benefits of partnering with the leading online takeaway portal www.Just-Eat.co.uk, as more than 5,000 have now signed up to its service. The milestone marks an impressive year for the site, whose restaurant partner number has more than doubled from 2,200 to 5,000 in the past 12 months.

Launched in the UK in 2006, Just-Eat last year accepted a £10.5 million venture capital injection by leading European investors Index Ventures. The site delivers more than 60,000 meals per day, having processed more than 11 million since its launch. The portal offers customers a large choice of cuisines from across the board including Thai, Sushi, Indian, Chinese and Pizza.

Aimed at offering its customers a simple and convenient means of ordering their favorite takeaway dishes, users search for restaurants by location and cuisine, and are then presented with a list of the best restaurants in their area. Once they have made their choice of takeaway, interactive menus guide users towards their meal of choice, with payment taken online once the decision has been made. The process can be done completely from the comfort of the user’s home, with estimate delivery times given to ensure that no one is left in the dark.

The site is also uniquely equipped with over 200,000 user reviews, helping customers to make an informed decision about which establishments they choose to order from.
